Webcam Used For Voyeurism
It’s one of the staples of sex comedies: the ability to watch girls in various states of undress undetected. We call it the Peeping Tom, and with the advent of spy cameras, voyeurism has reached even greater heights than ever before. But even in today’s age, who would’ve thought that even your personal webcam can be turned against you? This is exactly what happened to Marisel Garcia, who found out that her own webcam was taking pictures of her without her knowledge.
Garcia then took her machine to another computer expert—a trusted friend this time—who discovered that Feigin had installed two pieces of software onto her machine: Log Me In and Web Cam Spy Hacker. Web Cam Spy Hacker may have been written by Feigin himself (the address on the site was the same as his home address), and it allowed him to upload the various photos taken on the machine to a remote server.
The frightening thing here is that 20,000 pictures were taken. Garcia wasn’t the only one, as the report revealed that eight or nine other women could be victims. How it all happened is available via the source, but the lesson is that when you take your computer for repairs, make sure you trust who you’re taking it to. Otherwise, you’re opening yourself up to a lot of potential misery.
