Vista More Secure Than XP
Here’s one reason why you should switch from XP to Vista: security. Judging from the numbers, Microsoft’s latest operating system is less likely to become vulnerable to attacks than its predecessor.
My data source was the Microsoft Security Bulletin Search page, where I tallied up security bulletins rated Critical or Important for the two Windows versions. The result? Vista had an overwhelming edge over XP, with a mere 14 security updates compared to 41 for XP with Service Pack 2 during the same period.
Of course, you can spin this another way and say that XP is more vulnerable because more coders are targeting it. It reminds me of this comic strip I saw on Ctrl+Alt+Del once. I mean, it’s bad news for XP, but it’s not necessarily good news for Vista either.
