Star Wars Fan Builds Own Landspeeder

When it comes to fandom, there are those who are content with keeping themselves informed on the latest and buying the occasional toy or two for nostalgia. Then there are the hardcore types who have to collect every single piece of memorabilia there is, even the limited edition ones (let me correct that: especially the limited edition ones).

Among the hardcore types are an elite number of people who possess the technical and financial ability to not just collect stuff, but to build actual models of their own. Star Wars fan Daniel Deutsch takes that to a different level by making a Landspeeder. This isn’t a simple model, folks. He says it’s actually drivable.

Mind you, it’s not actually as fast as the actual Landspeeder in Star Wars; Deutsch says the fiberglass vehicle runs on electricity at a max speed of 25MPH. It allegedly can travel several miles on a single battery charge.
