Sony Memory Stick Entertainment Packs
I hate Sony’s proprietary memory formats. I think that open standards and formats do better, and I think what basically amounts to the UMD’s death, proves my point. Due to the UMD’s death though, Sony is looking to try again to get people into buying media with their movies or music on them, this time with their Memory Stick technology.
With 1GB and 2GB Memory Stick Entertainment Packs, you get an installer DVD, which allows you to unlock and transfer one of four Sony movies to the memory device so that it can be played on the PSP game console.
The 1GB and 2GB Memory Stick Entertainment Packs will be available in August for around $60 and $100 respectively, and allows you to select one complementary full length movie to play on your PSP system. You can choose from four movies: “Hitch,” “S.W.A.T.,” “The Grudge” or “XXX: State of the Union.”
