Seven HDTV Myths Busted

The fine folks over at Retrevo have put together an excellent guide on the many myths surrounding HDTV, offering up detailed explanations and clarifications on some common mistaken assumptions people make about HDTV.

Some myths include “It’s always better to buy 1080p,” “Plasma TV’s have problems with burn-in,” and “You need to get a Blu-ray player to watch DVDs in high definition.” Definitely a must read for anyone considering buying an HDTV, or anyone who wants to get the best out of the one they already have.

If I could add an 8th, it would be “you don’t get glare off an LCD TV.” That’s what the salesman tried to sell me on, and now that I own one it couldn’t be further from the truth. Sure it’s not nearly as bad as it was on my old tube TV, but in the middle of the afternoon when the sun is at it’s peak? You’d better believe I need to close those blinds.
