Reviews: Sony NWZ-A720 Walkman

Regardless of your loyalty to your music player, you have to give props to Sony for getting the media experience on the road with the Walkman. A recent addition to that venerable line is NWZ-A729. Here’s a review:

  • The good: The Sony NWZ-A720 Walkman MP3 player series offers high-quality music, photo, and video playback, along with EX-style earphones, and a phenomenal battery life.
  • The bad: The Sony NWZ-A720 series doesn’t come cheap, and it lacks an FM radio, voice recording, memory expansion, and a standard USB connection.
  • The bottom line: The Sony NWZ-A720 is the best-sounding, best-looking Walkman series yet, and the inclusion of premium earphones adds real value.

The bundled earphones require special mention because the review found them to be truly exceptional. It’s a nice break from the usual stuff that’s packaged with most portable media players. Notice that the kickstand is becoming a standard feature as well. It’s slowly becoming one of those design must-haves for devices that support video playback.
