Fans of simulation games know that in order to get the full experience, they need to accessorize. Flight sims have joysticks, racing games have steering wheels and pedals. The difference here is that most flight sims don’t have widely recognizable names attached to their peripherals. Have you seen Lockheed release a video game joystick? It would certainly be interesting to see that.

On the other hand, Fanatec has a Porche-licensed peripheral set that you can use for your virtual driving. Given the brand name, you know it’s not going to be cheap. Here’s a review:

WIRED Responsive, with aggressive (and customizable) force feedback. Solid sturdy build feels like the real thing might.

TIRED Fans within wheel can get loud. Costs about as much as a PS3.

The Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo Racing Wheel will drive your budget $350 lower, which you can hook up with your PC or PS3.
