Reviews: AMD Phenom 8750 Triple-Core CPU

Intel and AMD used to be head-to-head competitors. These days the latter has fallen behind and is struggling to catch up. Here’s a review of the AMD Phenom 8750 Triple-Core CPU. Is three better than two or four, processor-wise? Let’s find out.

Pros: Competes with a similarly priced Intel CPU, even though the Phenom is clocked lower; trounced the E8400 in some games.

Cons: Seems to be slower at severe multitasking than the Intel system.

Summary: AMD has a midrange gaming powerhouse in this Triple-Core Phenom. Perhaps AMD is on to something with the odd core count.

I’ve said it before: it’s all about expectations. The reviewer states it clearly here: expect the Phenom 8750 Triple-Core to perform well for mid-range systems. That means mid-range demands, so if you want maximum settings for your games, this is not for you. If you’re not looking for that, then you may want to consider this. For $200, it sounds like a good deal.
