Review: Windows 7 Beta 1

The beta 1 version of Windows 7 is expected to be released on January. As expected, some players in the industry received a copy even earlier than that. Here’s a review of Windows 7 so far. That’s right, a review of a beta. It doesn’t occur often since beta builds are supposed to be works-in-progress, but that just shows us how integrated the operating system has become with everyday computing.

I like Windows 7, a lot. Microsoft seems to have put a lot of effort into developing a core operating system that is free from the pointless frills of the likes of XP and Vista. The OS is solid and fast and based on what I’ve seen so far I’d have no problems in rolling out beta 1 and using it daily.

It’s a very uplifting review compared to what we read before. I’m mentioned before that there are more than a couple of parties who are interested in skipping upgrading to Windows Vista. This beta review is definitely encouraging news. We’ll see how things progress as beta 1 goes live to the public.
