Playboy To Develop Content Independently

When it comes to the phrase “sex sells”, there are few that can stand close to defining it as well as Playboy. It’s the most recognizable brand in porn, sporting a logo that’s globally recognized. Yet not all is well for the magazine. According to a report, it looks like Playboy will be doing a merger of sorts.
Playboy announced Thursday that it would be fully merging its online and print-side operations. The best-known of all the skin magazines is reorganizing into a business with focus on leveraging all of its content across three mediums (print, online, mobile).
What this means is that content will be developed independently, so expect to see different things across the three mediums mentioned above. That’s actually a pretty tall order, considering that Playboy will have to make sure that whatever is on the magazine will be different on the other two. Well, if there’s one thing that it’s proven over the years, it’s that there’s no shortage on people willing to get naked.
