Photoshop CS4: Bigger & Better
Hot on the heels of the CS4 announcement, I stumbled on this review for the latest version of Adobe Photoshop. Similar to Google, the image editing software has enjoyed the transition from brand name to verb, meaning you can say that a picture was ‘shopped to mean that it was digitally edited. With that much popularity, can the new version live up to its reputation? Here’s a little something to look forward to:
The new version of Photoshop comes dressed in a revamped interface, contains new tools for manipulating photos and boasts vastly improved performance, thanks in part to graphics processing capabilities. By offsetting some computing power to your computer’s graphics chips, Photoshop CS4 gains the ability to zoom in, pan and scroll through images with smooth and elegant motions.
You can hit the source for full details, but note that details are exactly what you’ll get. There’s no single paragraph or section dedicated to saying whether this is a must-have update or not. However, it’s not that necessary given that most of the article is spent on praising the improvements. If you’re a Photoshop user, this looks like a gem to work with. Having played with the software a couple of months ago, I’m interested in looking at what the new version has to offer.
