Pentax Goes Snow White For The K2000 DSLR

The Pentax K2000 has been a well received entry-level DSLR that offers numerous easy-to-use Auto Picture settings and a 10.2-megapixel image stabilized sensor. The initial K2000 sported a traditional black body, but Pentax has now just announced the availability of a limited-edition striking White body enclosure. While the White K2000 is identical to its Black sibling, the White version does come with a special two-piece white-coloured zoom lens kit. The two White lenses are the DA L 18-55mm AL and DA L 50-200mm F4-5.6 AL which essentially gives the user zoom coverage 18 to 200mm.

One of my favourite features of this camera is the ‘?’ button, which you can see on the last picture below. It is a dedicated ‘Help’ button that is reprogrammable and is like having a built-in user’s guide explaining camera settings to you on the fly, which could be a big help for users who are graduating to a DSLR from the compact camera world and may be a bit overwhelmed by the features of a full-blown DSLR. A nice usability touch from Pentax.

The only unfortunate thing about this limited-edition Snow White camera from Pentax, is that it won’t be available for the Christmas season. It is only expected to be released in February 2009, and supplies will be very limited indeed.
