Novint Falcon To Get More Support For Games
A lot of time has passed since we last heard of the Novint Falcon. If you can recall, it’s a peripheral that brings the sense of touch to, well, anything that you can think of as long it’s supported. That’s basically why we’ve heard so little about it: there are only a few applications out there that are enabled for the Falcon. Thankfully, that’s all about to change. Novint has signed a deal with Electronic Arts to bring its peripheral to more games than ever before.
The list of games is impressive: Counter-Strike Source, Half-Life Episode One and Two, Team Fortress 2, Portal, and the upcoming Left 4 Dead. This should coincide with the launch of the pistol grip for the Falcon, an add-on that gives you the feeling of actually firing a gun and feeling the recoil. There is also a special Orange Box bundle planned for the Falcon.
We’re probably more than a few years away from getting Surfaces of our own, so while that’s brewing, the Falcon might satisfy our need to reach out and touch something.
