Mounting Cameras On Guns
A Washington DC lawmaker has introduced a bill that would require cameras to be attached to police guns. The said cameras will start recording as soon as the weapons they’re attached to are drawn from their holsters.
Washington, DC NBC News affiliate WRC is now reporting that a bill has been put in front of the DC Council that “would require police service revolvers to have miniature cameras to record how the weapons are used” in order to “provide a clear record for both police and citizens on how police weapons are used.”
Clear record indeed. This technology will settle any debate regarding shooting incidents. Although cops are going to have to deal with the additional weight, the potential of the recordings to clear their names is worth the sacrifice.
