More Than 200,000 Wants Windows XP To Remain

It’s petition week, apparently. We first heard of the petition of 11,000 consumers in Canada regarding the price plans behind the iPhone. While that group worked on something new, another wanted to retain something old. InfoWorld launched a campaign aptly named “Save Windows XP”, whose goal is clearly obvious. After gathering more than 200,000 signatures, it then sent a letter to Steve Ballmer. Here’s the introduction:

On January 2, 2008, InfoWorld launched the Save Windows XP campaign. As of June 27 at 2:00 PM Pacific Time, we have gathered 210,562 signatures from passionate users who demand the right to purchase Windows XP after June 30, the deadline beyond which Microsoft has said it will no longer license Windows XP through most sales channels.
