Microsoft Midori To Succeed Windows?
Rumor has it that Microsoft is already working on its next operating system. No, we’re not talking about Windows 7 here, but something that’s completely non-Windows. That’s right, folks. If the rumors are true, then we’re about to say goodbye to the brand that turned a structural fixture into an IT platform.
That project, codenamed ‘Midori,’ is a new Microsoft operating-system platform that supposedly supersedes Windows. Midori is in incubation, which means it is a little closer to market than most Microsoft Research projects, but not yet close enough to be available in any kind of early preview form.
So are you ready to bid Windows farewell? I just hope that Windows 7 turns out to be a great OS, just so that the series can end on a high note. If it were me, I wouldn’t want Windows Vista to be my swan song.
