Made In Japan: World’s Smallest Chopper

brianlamflying.jpg

This isn’t an original question, but it’s one worth repeating. It’s 2008. Where are the flying cars, jet packs and teleportation devices? We’re seven years away from the future that Marty McFly and Doc Brown go to in Back to the Future 2. We’re nowhere close to the technology presented in that fictional era, obviously, but have you ever wondered how progress is going? Well, if Japan is going to have its way, the future of personal transportation is in helicopters.

A Japanese company called Gen Corporation has created what people are calling the world’s smallest one-man helicopter, capable of flying 50km/h and weighs (by itself) 75kg.

Scary? You bet. I’ll probably wait till hover conversion becomes the norm.
