MacBook Users Reporting Display Problems

All is not well with the MacBook. Users have reported that display problems have reared their ugly heads and won’t go away. Either the screen itself is failing or the graphics card is. Regardless, it’s pretty bad.
A number of users on the Apple Support forums are reporting a “black screen” issue while playing games, where the screen will suddenly turn black, the audio will repeat, and the system has to be reset. The problem occurs under both OS X and Windows, and can apparently happen after only a few minutes of gaming. Overheating may be to blame here, and some users have been able to avoid the issue by tweaking fan speeds. Still, other hardware problems could be at fault.
The good news is that Apple is aware of the issues, so it’s bound to come up with a response sooner or later. Still, if you’re using your MacBook for gaming or any other graphics-intensive process, that solution can’t come soon enough. Hopefully a driver update or software patch can resolve the issue because if it proves to be a hardware problem, it’s going to take longer to fix.
