January’s PC Magazine Is Its Last Issue

PC Magazine is going out of print. The last issue will be released in January, and unless somebody picks it up, it will be curtains for the publication of one of tech’s most recognizable magazines. Don’t fret though. You’ll still see it online.

…Ziff Davis’s PC Magazine will issue its last print edition this January, thereafter becoming an online-only publication.

Gadget and PC shoppers stay online now, preferring sites such as AOL’s Engadget, Gawker Media’s Gizmodo or CNET to print. Ziff Davis will follow that model and PC Magazine will become PCMag, part of a network of sites called the PCMag Digital Network.

It’s a bit nostalgic for me because I was once a writer for PC Magazine myself, so I can’t help but feel a little sad to see it go. But hey, we’ll still have the online version, so it’s not a completely lost cause. It just goes to show that as we move forward with all things digital, some things are eventually going to be left behind.
