Intel To Showcase Classmate PC At CES
Intel’s entry in the netbook market will be the Convertible Classmate PC. It’s expected to make heads turn (or so Intel hopes) at CES next month.
The touchscreen sequel to the original Classmate, the Convertible Classmate will pack the typical netbook 1.6 GHz Intel Atom, 60 GB hard drive, and Windows XP. Its touchscreen is 8.9 inches.
It features a virtual keyboard and handwriting recognition so make full use of that touchscreen when you try this one out. Finger and stylus support is included, so you can choose whatever input method you prefer. It also has palm rejection technology to prevent accidentally activating other parts of the screen. The device can be used in portrait or landscape mode simply by turning it.
The Intel Convertible Classmate PC looks like it’ll be a fun tool for learning. No word on price yet, but expect to see more information to arrive at CES.
