Gmail Spices Things Up With Themes
If you logged on to Gmail lately you may have noticed a few extra lines here and there. That’s just icing on the cake. Google has finally decided to change the appearance of Gmail and gave users the ability to customize its appearance through the use of themes. Just select one from a number of choices and you’ll see your email in a different light.
Gmail fans have been building unofficial extensions to spice up their inboxes for a while, but up til now themes haven’t been an integral part of Gmail. We wanted to go beyond simple color customization, so out of the 30 odd themes we’re launching today, there’s a shiny theme with chrome styling, another one that turns your inbox into a retro notepad…
And the list goes on. I’m using the Night Shade theme because it reminds me of the color scheme I used for my old blog. It’s going to take a while to get used to it, but overall I like the new feature. What else will Google think of? More importantly, when is Gmail finally going to come out of beta?
