Gmail Converts Email To Documents
Regardless of what software or service you use, turning email into a document isn’t a straightforward thing. The process usually involves using multiple software, a lot of copying and pasting, then reformatting it to make it more presentable. While the length of the email ultimately determines the difficulty of the task, I’m sure you’re looking for a better solution. Google is looking to make that process a little easier by featuring file conversion straight out of your inbox.
More than once, I’ve had a conversation over email and later realized that the information contained in the messages would make a great starting point for a document. So I built an experimental feature for Gmail Labs that does just that: with one simple click, “Create a document” converts an email into a Google Docs document.

All it takes is a simple button. First, go to your Gmail settings page (make sure you’re logged in), then enable Create A Document. To try it out, go to your inbox, open one email, then click on Create A Document on the right. You’ll find it among the printing options. Clicking on it will take you to your Google Docs page where you can edit the email to your liking. I recommend that you try it out and see for yourself.
