E-Readers By The Bulk

The Amazon Kindle is the most popular e-reader out there, arguably the device that put e-readers on the map. If the competition plays it right, it can actually cash in on the Kindle’s fame by offering more features and different prices. If you’re in the market for an e-reader, here are some of your options.

First is Samsung’s Papyrus, which has a touchscreen and an e-ink screen. Its $300 price tag makes it cheaper than the Kindle although it doesn’t look as fancy, judging from the picture. It’s not available yet, so we’ll have to wait for more details about it. Second is the Sony Reader. It’s also touchscreen-capable and has 512mb of storage. It retails at $350. The iRex iLiad has a larger screen, Wi-Fi, 256mb memory and supports text, PDF, images and HTML. The downsides include weight, making it the heaviest of the bunch, and it’s $600 price tag.
