Don’t Want To Upgrade To Vista Yet?

In light of recent news that Windows 7 is going to be released as—well, Windows 7, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said that it was okay for companies to wait till it’s out. He’s still recommending that people upgrade to Vista, but if they don’t want to, it seems like he doesn’t mind.

Some companies are planning to skip Windows Vista, and that’s OK, according to Steve Ballmer. But Microsoft’s CEO hopes that those companies come back for Windows 7.

Ballmer said that “if people want to wait they really can,” ZDNet’s Larry Dignan reports. “But I’d definitely deploy Vista,” he said.

He then goes further and says that the adoption rate for Vista is faster than the one for XP. Microsoft’s latest operating system has taken quite a beating from all sides regarding its performance (or the lack thereof), so it’s understandable to see why people are hesitant to upgrade to it. Now I’m wondering when XP is going to reach its end-of-life.
