In The 6th Day, Arnold Schwarzenegger stars in a movie about cloning. A major benefit that the film highlights is the ability to clone animals. Thanks to the fictional company RePet, humans no longer have to deal with the loss of their precious pets. They simply take them to RePet and have them duplicated.

Unlike most movie comparisons where the real-life version only comes close to what’s depicted onscreen, a company in South Korea did exactly that. Called RNL Bio, the Seoul-based firm cloned a pitbull named Booger.

An American woman received five puppies Tuesday that were cloned from her beloved late pitbull, becoming the inaugural customer of a South Korean company that says it is the world’s first successful commercial canine cloning service.

This event marks the company’s first venture into commercial cloning. In case you’re wondering, the cloning cost $50,000 USD.
