Dell Announces New Laptops, Now With More Battery Life
Are you and your laptop inseparable? If that’s the case, are you struggling to get more power out of your notebook? If you are, Dell is offering a solution. Unfortunately, it requires buying a new laptop. I didn’t mean to lead you on, but if you were hoping for a battery, you’re out of luck.
Dell on Tuesday announced its new line of seven Latitude laptops, including the 12-inch Latitude E4200, whose battery life can be considerably extended using a new mode called Dell Latitude ON. In this mode, business users will be able to access the stuff that matters most to them — e-mail, contacts, calendar, attachments and Internet — without booting into the OS, thereby significantly saving energy.
The new laptops are Wi-Fi capable and also support Bluetooth. Added security is provided by fingerprint readers and disk encryption. Pricing peaks at $1,200 USD for the high-end models, with no word regarding the lower-end ones.
