Beta Review: Firefox 3.1

firefox3.png

The latest salvo in the browser wars has just been fired: Firefox 3.1 Beta leaves IE in ashes. Here are excerpts:

Firefox 3.1 is the fastest version yet. One of our favorite sites to use for testing is papervision3d.org because it is so graphics heavy. Firefox 3.1 took 25 seconds to fully load. Compare this to our last Firefox 3 review on the same machine, Firefox 3 took 45 seconds to load the site’s 3D image.

Reading the source article leaves one with the impression that Firefox is so fast, it probably violates browsing speed limits. Thankfully, they don’t exist. I’m already wondering when Mozilla will take it out of beta and launch it for the masses to consume. Faster browsing, even with 3D images? Sign me up!
