Ballmer Ordered To Testify In Vista Lawsuit

Vista’s woes are going to get a little personal for Steve Ballmer. The CEO of Microsoft has been summoned by a federal judge to testify in a class action lawsuit.
A federal judge in Seattle has ordered Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer to testify in a class action lawsuit against Microsoft that alleges the company misled consumers in a marketing campaign for its Windows Vista operating system in which computers sold with an older Microsoft OS were labeled ‘Vista Capable’ when in fact they could only run a basic version of Vista.
Definitely not a good sign for Microsoft. At this point, it’s just another entry in the list that enumerates Vista’s troubles. The difference is that it’s a little closer to home because this time, Ballmer himself is getting summoned.
If you didn’t upgrade, good for you. If you did and you didn’t run into trouble with it, congratulations. You’re not among the unfortunate ones. That’s just icing on the cake, really. Let’s see how this one turns out for both Microsoft and the battered operating system.
