ASUS Working On EEE 2.0
![]()
ASUS is working on a more powerful version of its EEE netbook. This time, there’s going to be plenty of juice under the lightweight frame. If the new version actually manages to do that and still remain reasonably priced, ASUS could have another potential hit on its hands.
Among the biggest updates will be a touch-screen version of the Eee that’s been talked about since January, as well as a faster dual-core version. News of the dual-core version, which will be based on an upcoming release of Intel’s efficient Atom processor, essentially blows the lid on the processor, which hasn’t yet been formally announced by Intel.
And before I forget, not only will the new EEEs have more power, they’ll also have touchscreens. Pretty neat, right? Try not to get too excited though. The prototypes are expected to appear at CES 2009, so it’s going to take a while.
