ASUS Presents The EEE Keyboard

eeekey1.jpg

ASUS is taking the EEE name and making it into a brand that’s going to go beyond netbooks. Its latest model at CES is a keyboard with a screen.

We spotted some Asus keyboards last week, but none were nearly as potentially awesome as the official Eee Keyboard. Featuring wireless HDMI, it’s a “fully functional PC” with full QWERTY and a mini secondary touchscreen.

It looks like it’ll be used as part of a home theater system, but your guess is as good as ours. Specs and other technical details are missing, so all we can do is guess. ASUS wasn’t spilling the details on whether this is a product that it actually intends to sell or not, but as a concept it’s certainly interesting. Real-world applications might be a little hard to think of for this keyboard at the moment, but if there’s anything that the EEE netbook has proven, it’s that you can create a demand simply by coming up with a good product.
