ASUS Launches Download Center For The EEE

ASUS EEE users will be getting the exclusive, red carpet treatment courtesy of ASUS itself. The manufacturer of the popular netbook has launched a download center that contains 3,400 Linux applications. The best part of the deal is that its free. If that sounds like too much of a good thing, it is. As you can expect, there’s a little catch to the whole deal.

Each program has a handy little “install” button next to it. But what happens when you click install is your computer attempts to download a file with a CNR extension.

But right now, Xandros doesn’t support CNR. And if you’ve got an Eee PC running Linux, it’s runnning Xandros.

In short, there’s no way to install the applications! It’s like watching one big tease, multiplied 3,400 times. Way to go, ASUS.
