Ars Technica’s Ovatio Awards 2008

Here’s another list from a familiar source: Ars Technica. The tech site has handed out its Ovatio Awards to commemorate the newsmakers of 2008. It covers everything that one can expect: the highs and lows of gadgetry, technology trends that defined this year and other topics worth mentioning. Here are my notable entries from the list:

Game of the Year: Fallout 3

I wasn’t expecting that they were going to hand out the award to this game. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad they did, it’s just that it has its share of problems as well.

Boneheaded Decision of the Year: Anything that Jerry Yang did at Yahoo! in 2008

I’ll admit that this is one of my favorites. I’ve been hesitant to point it out every time I posted a story about what Yahoo! did this year, but I agree that Jerry’s decisions this year have left me scratching my head more than once. It’s nice to see that the Ars staff think the same way. Head to the source for the full list. It’s a lengthy but fun read, so if you’ve got the time, check it out.
