Apple Releases The New iPod Shuffle
Apple just released the new iPod Shuffle. Honestly, I’m a little shocked with the lack of fanfare on this one. Where are the flyers, posters and marching bands? Anyway, the next generation is here. Aside from being continuing to be the smallest iPod in the product line, what else is new?
First off, the redesigned iPod went even smaller, measuring only 1.8 inches tall and 0.3 inches thick (or thin, depending on how you look at it). It has a capacity of 4gb and has VoiceOver, allowing the unit to shout out titles, artists and other things. Its fluent in 14 languages, including English, Spanish and German. What’s even more impressive is that it can recognize what language to use. The downside is that you’ll need iTunes to change it, if it made an error somewhere.
Another change in the design is the removal of the buttons on the player. All controls have been moved to the earphone cord. It’s something consumers will have to get used once they purchase the device. The new iPod Shuffle is available now at $79 USD.
