A Vaio With Blu-ray

sonyvaiolthd.jpg

Sony is going to release a desktop PC that comes with a Blu-ray drive. All I can say is that at least HD-DVD is easy to spell. Is it Blu-Ray or Blu-ray?

The Vaio LT HD PC/TV is 22-inch widescreen display with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of RAM, Webcam, WiFi and more baked in. The PC part can run in the background while you use the display as a CableCard-ready TV.

It’s obviously intended to be a multimedia desktop PC, probably even a home mini-theater given all that power. The release date is set for October, at $1,900 USD for the low-end model. If you want all that Blu-ray jazz, prepare to shell out $2,900. Yes, considering the additional thousand, a PS3 is cheaper.
